A Hewlett-Packard mainframe and a P.C. network support our buying systems.  Computer programs monitor daily shipping activity, on-hand inventories, forecast need, cost/pricing, tie/tier, UPC’s, descriptions, sales histories, and routinely produce suggested purchase orders.  ALL suggested purchase orders are reviewed by our buyers prior to finalizing an order to assure the benefit of professional buying experience.

 

One important measurement of a distributors’ purchasing efficiency is the ability and willingness to add new items in a timely manner.  Because serving the military market is our only business, there is never hesitancy to add new items due to civilian or retail considerations.  Once our buyer has been given all pertinent set up information such as: pricing, UPC’s, case pack, weight, cube, tie/tier, and suggested initial order quantity, they can order the item(s) immediately.  The new item(s) can be added to an outstanding purchase order, or to our next purchase order.
